Summary

GCS was commissioned to carry out a dimensional survey and structural assessment of the warehouse within the building compound. The client would like to use the first floor of the warehouse as a restaurant / café.

The building was found with suspended timber floor joists, historical steel beams and cast-iron columns.

Structural assessments are carried out to determine the capacity of the members to ensure they are suitable for the proposed usage. Strengthening works and details were proposed to specific structural elements.
